Digital Sista Blog
Hey, where are you? I know that you have a lot to say, but we are too silent.
Just want to let you know that I received the official Certification of Registration for Digital Sista e-zine/blog from the U.S. Copyright Office and in November, I received the official Certificate of Registration from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Department of Commerce). Both registrations took two years to complete. This is about taking action to protect intellectual property; i.e., protect your ideas.
Is this campaign season exciting or what? Everyone, no matter what your politics, is engaged.
People are tuning into Tom Joyner and going off about Tavis Smiley's commentaries about Sen. Barack Obama vs. Sen. Hillary Clinton, and the controversy with Tavis Smiley's State of the Black Union (Tavis doesn't think Mrs. Michelle Obama should appear in place of her husand, who is campaigning and winning). The egos in media are making this so interesting. And, I believe there will be backlash from the public. People are not stupid and can "see" ego maniacs when they rear their heads under the guise over caring for people. Think about it, I'll be you know who I am referring too.
I also find these times interesting because people are beginning to wake up and not be distracted from the real issues. Also, people who thought that they were OK, are realizing that they are not as OK as they thought. They are seeing their lifestyle change. Everyone is challenged and craving for change - - change that doesn't just benefit the wealthy.
Have you been watching the PBS special, African American Lives2 with Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.? It is fascinating to learn how our ancestors lived and survived as slaves, and struggled as free people under the shackles of Jim Crow.
In any event, keep checking out the blog. And one of these days, I will hear from you because I know you have something to say.
